Registration
Date: 27 August 2025
The majority of women do not need to self-register for BreastCheck. Most women are added to the BreastCheck register automatically through the Department of Social Protection.
We are aware that some women who self-registered between February and August this year have experienced difficulties seeing their details on the register. Your details are on our register, but our system has not been showing your correct details when you check them again. If you self-registered between February and August and provided your mobile number, you will receive a text message from us in early September to confirm your registration and let you know when you can view your details online.
We have a dedicated team working to fix the problem, and we expect it to be resolved by 5 Sept 2025. We will update this notice to confirm when the issue has been resolved. If you have a query, please contact us by emailing info@breastcheck.ie or calling 1800 45 45 55.
You can register for BreastCheck if you are within the eligible age range of 50-69. While it is possible to register for the BreastCheck Programme between the ages of 48-49, your first breast screening invitation will not be issued until after you turn 50. This is normally within 2 years of your 50th birthday however in some cases you may be 53 when you get your first invitation. Your first invitation will depend on when screening is available in your area.
Breast screening is for women who do not have symptoms. Please contact your GP if you're worried about any symptoms you may have.
To search our database to see if we have your details on our register, please enter the required information in the form below. If you have changed address recently, then you will be given an option to submit your new information.
